Develop your consciousness and create positive changes in your life.
Learn to achieve richer
communication and trust with your horse through meditation, visualization, asanas and pranayama.
The rhythmic poses and yoga breathing exercises help you learn how to breathe in rhythm with movement as well as
enhance your awareness.
Enjoy Yoga and meditation sessions engulphed in the beauty of Cahuita National Park. Among the activities offered
at Magellan Inn are snorkling in coral reefs, beach and jungle horse treks, and guided nature hikes.
Find peace and serenity. A complete retreat itenerary is available at Yoga in Harmony with Horses.
We use the same skill sets when we enter, hold, and leave a yoga asana that we use
when we interact with our equine companions. We enter an asana with calm determination,
hold the pose with grace and quiet breath, and leave the pose with awareness and thankfulness.
The same is true when we ask our horses to perform up and down transitions. When we ask
with calm firmness they respond willingly and happily.
Horses are noble creatures capable of great physical feats and they generously share
that with us if we are open to accepting their gifts. We need only quiet the "noise"
in our minds and listen.
A yoga practice prepares us to find that quiet place within each of us and listen for our
horses’ invitation to come play.
- Holistic riding creates a deeper connection between body, breath, mind and soul.
- Integrating Yoga into our riding and our time spent with horses enhances awareness, balance and flexibility.
- Breathing in rhythm creates focus and relaxation.
Which leads us towards the goal of union with our horse, the perfect dance,
the two becoming one, moving effortlessly in harmony.

Corinne Rosita Aulakh
As I say frequently in my classes, "Yoga is not about touching your toes."
Yoga is your personal journey to re-discover you. My approach to asana and pranayama practice is to offer
adaptations and adjustments to each movement to allow students to enjoy and learn from each action.
For example, for years I could not put any weight on my hands and wrists. My adaptation to the
Downward Facing Dog and plank in Sun Salutations was to do the Dolphin and the Dolphin plank.
Mountain pose can be done from a chair. Balance poses can be done with supports.
Try an asana practice in the pool to help with balance and flexibility.
I want to share my yoga journey with those who may not easily find their niche in the modern yoga
world of contortionists, brands, fads, and even competitions. I am 54 years old and I have
rheumatoid arthritis. The arthritis is just a part of my yoga journey that has taught me many valuable
lessons about perseverance, balance, stillness, calm determination, acceptance and most of all faith.
Yoga is universal and for everyone, regardless of any so-called physical, mental, or emotional limitations.
The practice of yoga allows us to directly experience the divine in ourselves and all around us. When we
become aware of the oneness of all life we begin our true human experience.
Training & Certification
I trained in California and India.
I am certified in the Ashtanga and Hatha yoga styles. I also have experience with
the Shivananda style of yoga, the 26 sequences of postures used in Bikram's style
of yoga and restorative yoga in addition to therapeutic yoga practices.
My yoga studio located in the beautiful hills of Escazu.
San Antonio de Escazu, 75m south of Restaurante Tiquicia and 300 meters east on Calle Dos Cercas, 2nd gate on your right.
Living with rheumatoid arthritis for more than 20 years
I understand the challenges of limited mobility, flexibility and strength
... and chronic pain.
Yoga is wonderful if you are struggling with weight issues
too because it is gentle and effective.
Take back control of your life.
Recent reviews and testimonials about Corinne
Just back from a fabulous yoga tour of Costa Rica with Corinne Aulakh.
Fabulous both as yoga retreat and as a tour of Costa Rica.
Loved the company which was truly international and the yoga lessons by Corinne.
Looking forward to the next one.
I am so glad I finally got in touch with Corinne to begin
sessions in restorative yoga. I appreciate Corinne's careful "study"
of my body--aches, issues, injuries-- and how she chooses stretches and poses
that have me moving without injuring myself further, and don't cause me pain.
She listens carefully, explains in good detail, corrects, adjusts, encourages,
and keeps me moving. To add icing to the cake, her studio is in a beautiful,
peaceful setting, which serves to enhance the whole process of relaxing and letting go.
Oh yes, and I mustn't forget the delicious black raspberries along the path to the studio! :)
Before knowing Corinne, I tried everything you can i\ine to be healthy physically
and mentally. I got an injury in my wrists, knee and ankle. Someone recommended Corinne.
After attending regular classes with Corinne I started enjoying the peace and strength
that I started developing. We started private sessions to address my injuries and in
less than 2 months I've felt the difference. I haven't felt any pain in the past weeks
and my body and mind feel stronger.
Corinne really cares about you, she's always paying attention to what you need and she
connects with you really well. She's charismatic, you just want to follow her around
and learn as much as you can of her yoga practice. I just feel great every time I come
out of a class with her.
Being an overweight woman with arthritic knees in her 60's
I'm often turned off by the approach of most yoga teachers. Corinne is
welcoming to everyone and compassionate. She works with each student to
achieve their individual goal to improve wherever they begin their journey.
I always look forward to her class and feel fabulous at the end.
I never liked yoga, but since I am receiving yoga classes with Corinne, I really enjoy it.
I breath and feel better after the classes. She takes her time to explain each move and makes
sure that we do it right. This way there is no pain just hard work. Join to our classes,
you will feel the workout.
After having heard about yoga benefits for a while, I decided to give it a try with Corinne.
Called "Yoga for Golf" for my benefit, we did our first class. Whereas I know there is a whole
yoga culture, with specialized language, shapes, smells, stretches, poses, each with it own
wellness story, Corinne makes it very comfortable for the newbie, yet she she can clearly address
the needs and knowledge required by an experienced participant.
The setting is the studio nestled in the rain forest above Escazu, with light breezes, beautiful
forested vistas, and of course, music.
Corine simplifies the yoga mystic to make the experience enjoyable and effective. A far as
"Yoga for Golf," I played with renewed vigor, concentration, and flexibility next time out.
Our family has been doing Yoga with Corinne for a few months now. We have three girls
ages 8, 6, and 3 months. Corinne makes it a great experience for all of us and is
really good at helping the kids have fun and enjoy learning together.
Our time always flies by too fast and we are sad to go when our hour is up.
She works really well
with the kids through telling stories, and the girls know so many animal poses now.
She has also started giving us horseback riding lessons which has also been a real treat.
I have taken a lot of yoga classes throughout my life and there have been two
teachers that have stood out for me. Corinne is one of those teachers. She has
a very gentle and healing approach to her teaching.
She is very aware of each student's positioning during the postures and takes
into consideration each individual's special needs. I feel very refreshed and
open after her class and highly recommend her as a yoga instructor.
